What is Coaching?

Coaching is a process where ordinary people are able to achieve extraordinary results.  Powerful coaching sessions are designed to empower you to listen to your inner voice and to find your solutions to your challenges.  Through coaching, you create fundamental changes in the way you interact with the world and yourself.  You come with a desire to make specific changes in your life, and with a desire or a need for support to create those changes your way. 

One of the misconceptions about coaching is that the coach will give you advice.  This is inaccurate.  When you enrol in coaching with me, you determine where to focus your energies, while I listen and ask powerful questions that assist you in identifying what is possible and determining what action to take.  I hold a space for you to identify what you want to achieve and how you want to achieve it.  You find your own wisdom, rather than being advised what to do or how to do it. 
 
It is also important to understand that coaching is not therapy.  People who participate in coaching are looking toward the future and take an active role in creating the future they want.  It is you building on your strengths while looking forward, not trying to fix the past.

People thrive when they have identified their own solutions to life’s challenges.  You know what works for you, and you are much more likely to commit to taking the steps involved when you have designed your own solution.  When you hire a coach, you are making a commitment to your future.
 

Who Benefits from Coaching?

People who benefit most from the coaching process are those who are committed to making positive changes.  They are people who would benefit from having an unbiased sounding board to talk their way through the changes they want to make in their lives.    


How does Coaching Work?

We start with the premise that you are already whole and free, that you know what is best for you.  As your coach, I listen carefully to everything you have to say and ask you questions that empower you to make the changes that you want in your life.  You are in control.  You decide what you want and how to best achieve it.  My role is simply to support you as you identify what you really want and as you manifest that vision.

Once you commit to coaching, we will schedule two, three or four coaching sessions per month, based on how quickly you want to move through the process.  A typical coaching session takes place over the telephone and is between 30 to 50 minutes.
